The development comes after the 73-year-old was previously served with a notice demanding he pay thousands in back rent or vacate the property in a few days.

Court Ruling Forces Actor Out of His Los Angeles Rental
Court records show that Rourke’s former residence on Drexel Avenue has been returned to the control of its landlord, Eric T. Goldie. The ruling was entered by default on Monday, March 9, in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The development suggests that the former boxer, whose real name is Philip Andre Rourke Jr., likely did not appear in court to defend himself or respond to the complaint within the time required under California law.
The judgment also states that the rental agreement has been terminated and the lease forfeited, meaning the “Sin City” actor no longer has the legal right to occupy the property.
According to the order, the judgment was issued for possession only, indicating the case was focused on returning the home to the landlord rather than awarding financial damages.

$59K in Back Rent and a Three-Day Ultimatum
In December, court filings demanded that Rourke either vacate the property within three days or pay $59,100 in overdue rent, along with compensation for attorney fees.
The documents state that Rourke began leasing the home in March 2025, when the monthly rent was initially $5,200 before later rising to $7,000 per month. The notice, which the complaint alleges Rourke failed to comply with, was posted at the property and mailed to him after he was reportedly not home to receive it.

By January, the “Celebrity Big Brother UK” star was photographed removing belongings from the house, with a U-Haul truck appearing in the driveway the following day.

Unauthorized GoFundMe Sparks Confusion and Anger
Meanwhile, Liya-Joelle Jones launched a GoFundMe campaign in Rourke’s name in an effort to raise $100,000 to help prevent the eviction. Jones said she was both a friend and a member of Rourke’s management team, adding that she served as assistant to his manager, Kimberly Hines.
“Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,” Jones had told The Hollywood Reporter.

In the fundraiser description, she said the goal was to provide the actor with stability and peace of mind during a stressful period. She explained that the funds would help him remain in his home while giving him the space to get back on his feet.
Jones urged that donations of any size could make a meaningful difference. Rourke, however, strongly denied any involvement with the fundraiser in a video posted to his Instagram on January 5.
The “Iron Man 2” actor said he was confused and frustrated and didn’t understand why someone created a GoFundMe campaign on his behalf. “That’s not me, okay?” he declared. “I’d rather, if I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no [expletive] charity.”
While holding a small dog, Rourke added that he wouldn’t know what a GoFundMe foundation was in a million years and said he has too much pride to ask for help. “My life is very simple, I wouldn’t go to outside sources like that,” he added. He has since urged donors to reclaim their money.
Friends Claim Years of Excess Took a Toll
Friends have since claimed that Rourke’s current appearance does not surprise them, pointing to years of drug use, alcohol, and facial surgeries.
A source told the Daily Mail that Rourke is “rich poor” and living “paycheck-to-paycheck,” adding that he tends to spend his money quickly and often finds himself without funds soon after being paid.
Amid the unfolding situation, Rourke was also seen stepping outside his Los Angeles home before the eviction. He briefly opened the front door to collect food deliveries, first picking up a Taco Bell order before retrieving two paper bags of groceries from Pavilions.
In photos from the outing, he appeared with a shaved head and wore a multi-colored striped sweater, purple workout pants, and white socks. He also accessorized with a beaded necklace featuring a cross and a polka-dot scarf around his neck.
Pride, Pay Demands, and Refusing Lower-Paid Work
Rourke’s manager, Hines, later said that he has been receiving a wave of job offers, ranging from independent films and photoshoots to live appearances and autograph signings. According to Hines, she received six offers for him in just two days, though he reportedly showed little interest.
Despite the financial strain, Hines said Rourke has great pride and hopes to be compensated like an A-list star if he returns to work, expecting around $200,000 per day.
He is also focused on collaborating with the kind of high-profile actors and directors he has worked with in the past. While the offers have not reached the amount he is seeking, Hines noted that they still present valuable opportunities to work alongside talented people.
She believes that if Rourke concentrates on producing quality work, the financial rewards will eventually follow.

In January, Mickey Rourke was staying at an upscale West Hollywood hotel with his three dogs, where rooms start at $550 per night. Hines said he planned to check out once she secured a new Los Angeles apartment for him. However, she acknowledged that for the actor to maintain long-term stability, he would ultimately need to return to work.
For now, many are hoping he will either accept help or consider the offers available, though the decision ultimately remains his.
