The princesses have found it difficult to distance themselves from the saga because they are both repeatedly mentioned in the latest release of Epstein’s files.
Newly released emails suggest that Jeffrey Epstein had a larger presence in the lives of the Princesses of York, Beatrice and Eugenie, than previously understood. As their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, continue to face scrutiny, their daughters are also being drawn into the renewed attention.

Damning Emails Drag the York Sisters Into the Spotlight
Fresh revelations about the sisters’ connections to Jeffrey have prompted renewed public questions about their interactions with him. One email exchange indicates that they had lunch with Jeffrey in Miami only days after he was released from prison following his conviction for procuring minors for prostitution.
Elsewhere in the correspondence, Jeffrey appears to request that the princesses entertain some of his contacts and give them tours of Buckingham Palace.

Reports about the alleged Miami lunch have often referred to the princesses as “girls,” which suggests they were younger than they actually were at the time. In reality, Eugenie was 19, and Beatrice was 21 during that visit.
Andrew Lownie, the author of the book “Entitled” about former Prince Andrew, argued that the sisters were old enough to be aware of their circumstances.

He said, “They weren’t five-year-old girls when they were taken to see Epstein. They were grown-ups. There’s a big campaign to say they are innocents caught up in the shellfire, but they’re not, they’re deeply involved.”
However, royal journalist Victoria Murphy offered a different perspective. She said it was easy to criticise such decisions now that Jeffrey’s crimes are widely known. However, at the time, there were few warnings being raised publicly. In that context, she suggested it is possible they simply went along with a trip organised by their mother.

Flights, Lunches, and Uncomfortable Questions About Jeffrey
Other emails show Sarah planning a visit to Jeffrey, with her assistant at the time, Amanda, handling the communications. In one message, it is mentioned that one of her daughters would accompany her.
A follow-up email asks whether Jeffrey would be willing to cover the cost of one of the princess’s flights in economy class. The exchange continues with discussions about schedules, ticket prices, and seats.

The correspondence suggests that Jeffrey may have covered the cost of the family’s travel. In one exchange between Jeffrey and his assistant, the total for the flights appears to be listed as “for all tickets: $14,080.10.”
The emails also indicate that the relationship involved more than just travel arrangements. On several occasions, Jeffrey appears to ask Sarah whether her daughters could meet certain people.

In one instance, he seems to request that they show an unnamed individual around Buckingham Palace. Sarah replies in one exchange to apologise, explaining that they were not available and describing where they were at the time.
Another email contains a striking personal remark, where a “Sarah” appears to refer to Eugenie’s love life, noting that she was returning from a “shagging weekend.” In some of the messages, Jeffrey’s associates also make casual references to the princesses.

One email sent to Jeffrey from a friend reads, “Just spoke to Duchess of Pork. She is at this wild lunch with Beatrice. I just introduced myself to her. Told her I know (barely) her father and how terrific he is…more later.”
For royal commentator Richard Palmer, the repeated references to both sisters in the emails make it difficult for them to separate themselves from the wider controversy. “There’s no avoiding the links between the Yorks and Epstein,” he said.

Still, Victoria noted that while the emails are deeply uncomfortable to read, there remains some sympathy toward the princesses.
Royal Snubs and a Growing Social Freeze
The consequences of this association are already beginning to surface. The sisters have reportedly been told they will not be invited to the upcoming Royal Ascot event.

According to a royal expert, the exclusion could be the first of several potential snubs linked to their parents’ association with the late sex offender.
In Richard’s view, the long-term impact could be even more significant. He believes the sisters may eventually lose their royal titles and appear far less frequently in royal circles.

He also noted that the princesses are likely trying to maintain a low profile for now and may gradually fade into the background in the years ahead.
Richard suggested that the situation is likely to continue drawing attention for months, if not years, and that public appearances could create uncomfortable optics.

For instance, he noted that seeing Beatrice and Eugenie riding in a carriage at Ascot in front of around 70,000 spectators while their parents remain linked to the controversy would not reflect well on them.
The last public appearance of Beatrice and Eugenie with the royal family was in December 2025, when they joined the family for Christmas at Sandringham.

The sisters and their husbands attended church with the royals on Thursday, December 25, and took part in the traditional Sandringham walk. Also present were King Charles III and Queen Camilla, as well as Catherine Middleton, Prince William, and their children.
Now, Beatrice and Eugenie were reportedly caught off guard by the apparent decision not to include them in the Royal Box at the famous races scheduled for June.

Another source suggested that attending Ascot may not be possible, as members of the royal family have reportedly been advised to avoid being photographed with the sisters for the remainder of the year.
Charity Ties Strained as the Fallout Spreads
Further repercussions from the release of the Epstein files and the family’s association with Jeffrey have also emerged. Eugenie stepped down as patron of the UK charity Anti-Slavery International, the world’s oldest human rights organisation.

The 35-year-old had spent years advocating for greater awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking. However, she has not publicly addressed the Epstein files or the allegations of sexual abuse made against her father.
Anti-Slavery Collective has not issued a statement or publicly commented on the matter, and several other charities Eugenie has worked with have also remained silent.

The Salvation Army, which has a long-standing partnership with Eugenie, said in a statement, “We place victims and survivors at the heart of all our decision making, and we are closely monitoring this story.”
Meanwhile, Outward Bound confirmed that Beatrice continues to be involved with the organization “in her honorary role as Deputy Patron.”

As for Sarah and Andrew, they were stripped of their Duke and Duchess of York titles last year following revelations about the extent of their friendship with Jeffrey. Both have denied any wrongdoing, and being named in the files does not indicate involvement in criminal activity.
Netizens Clash over Blame and Responsibility
Fans quickly filled comment sections with a wide range of reactions after news broke that Eugenie had stepped down from her patron role.

One commenter argued, “The sisters both need to open their finances so they can be cleared of any involvement with Epstein.” Another person wrote bluntly, “They should step down from everything.” One remark dismissed the family entirely, “I don’t feel sorry for this entire family.”
A longer response analyzed, “Talk about setting your kids up for failure. Those girls are going to be paying for their parents’ mistakes for the rest of their lives. But… I will say they were adults when they went to go meet with Epstein in 2009. Any involvement they had with him as adults is on them and them alone.”

Others pushed back strongly against that criticism. One person insisted, “She is NOT responsible for her parents’ actions!!!!!!!” Another commenter noted, “So very sad that the sins of the father has [sic] to fall on the children🥲 What did she do wrong?”
Supportive messages also appeared, with one netizen penning, “Eugenie, remember you are loved, and you are your own person. ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Titles Intact – But the Optics Are Changing
Even with their alleged involvement in the Jeffrey scandal, Beatrice and Eugenie’s royal titles remain unaffected. The princesses were born into royalty as the daughters of Andrew and granddaughters of the late Queen Elizabeth.
Hence, they will maintain their positions in the line of succession to the throne. Andrew is currently eighth in line, followed by his daughters and their children.
Beatrice holds the ninth spot in succession, with her daughters, Sienna Mapelli Mozzi and Athena Mapelli Mozzi, next in line. Eugenie is 12th, followed by her sons, August Brooksbank and Ernest Brooksbank.
A Privileged Royal Upbringing Under New Scrutiny
Beatrice and Eugenie enjoyed a childhood that was lavish even by royal standards. It was marked by exotic holidays, private jet travel, yacht trips, extravagant birthday celebrations, and years spent moving comfortably among the ultra-wealthy.

Their upbringing included living in palace apartments and Alpine chalets, instilling the assumption that their royal status was enduring.
Andrew reinforced this belief as a father, ensuring his daughters were styled as HRH and retained their princess titles from birth. Both sisters pursued higher education and professional careers, although their royal background inevitably shaped the opportunities available to them.

They continue to maintain royal residences at Kensington Palace and St. James’s Palace, despite not holding working royal roles — an arrangement reportedly encouraged by Andrew.
The princesses reportedly pay rent on their royal properties, though it is unclear whether this is at market rates, as the Palace has not confirmed the details.

Their professional paths have been shaped by relationship-driven private sectors. Beatrice has built a career in international tech partnerships and founded the advisory firm BY-EQ. Meanwhile, Eugenie works in the high-end art world as a director at the gallery Hauser & Wirth in Mayfair.
Both princesses are married to independently wealthy husbands. Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is a property developer with Italian noble lineage. The couple has also engaged in some of Andrew’s business initiatives.

They appeared at Pitch@Palace, his startup business network, and held meetings with diplomatic figures, such as the then-Chinese ambassador to the UK in 2020. In contrast, Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, has a background in hospitality and marketing.
Beatrice divides her time between a property in the Cotswolds and her apartment at St. James’s Palace, while Princess Eugenie splits her residence between Portugal and Ivy Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

Retreating from the Spotlight as Pressure Mounts
In light of the ongoing saga, sources suggest that Beatrice and Eugenie remain close to both parents while prioritizing the safety and privacy of their young families. Each sister is focused on their kids, heightening the importance of establishing some measure of independence from their parents’ fallout.
Friends report that both have been keeping a low profile and have largely withdrawn from their usual social circles. For Andrew and Sarah, the immediate reality has been one of retreat.

Andrew remains secluded at the Sandringham estate while authorities continue to review newly available material. Sarah has not yet reappeared publicly and is reportedly considering where to live and how to support her lifestyle.
Following Andrew’s arrest, she was said to be staying at a remote wellness retreat. She sought treatment at the Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, one of the world’s most exclusive wellness centers.
She is also believed to have spent time in the UAE, where she has established contacts and potential benefactors. Sarah then visited Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa in Donegal, where she was spotted at the local airport. After moving out of Royal Lodge and with these numerous movements, her current residence remains unknown.
Sarah’s Emails Deepen the Family’s Jeffrey Shadow
Before disappearing from public view, Sarah’s public image had centered on her good-humoured resilience and ability to recover from setbacks and embarrassment. However, the latest emails involving Jeffrey appear to paint a different picture, showcasing their special relationship.

In the correspondence, Sarah comes across as a figure seeking support and financial backing, while also revealing glimpses of her privileged lifestyle.
One email, for instance, mentions she is in the south of France with the “perfect butler.” As more messages have emerged, it becomes increasingly clear how much she relied on Jeffrey, describing him as her “pillar” and confiding, “I have been so so sad.”

Some of these emails date back to when Jeffrey was still serving his prison sentence for soliciting sex from a minor. He was released on 22 July 2009, having served 13 months of an 18-month sentence. The files include emails from Sarah from June and early July of that year.
In August 2010, one message reads: “I am feeling very traumatised and alone. I am wanting to work for you at organising your houses [sic].” The following month, she inquires, “When are you going to employ me,” and adds, “Phew.. you still love me.”

Another exchange from 2009 shows Sarah Ferguson joking with Jeffrey about another woman, saying, “You can marry her too. She is single and a [sic] great body.”
In 2010, she also referenced Andrew, writing, “So you have not forgotten about me. I do know that my handsome Prince is a saint. And you worship him, I do too. But then I did marry him. And still love him.”

Now, with her daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice, repeatedly appearing in some of these exchanges, the entire family finds itself in a precarious position, with the public and media closely watching for how they will respond.
