According to the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office, DNA testing has shown with 99% certainty that Dustin Walker, an Oklahoma man and the stepfather of an 11-year-old girl, is the father of her newborn child.
Over the weekend, the girl gave birth without assistance or medical attention. She shared a home with Walker and her mother, Cherie Walker, who is currently being held on charges of child neglect and faces more charges while the final paternity results are awaited in two weeks. Each is secured by a bond of $100,000.
Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson described the situation as “horrible.” “A little girl, eleven years old, gave birth and had no one to be with her.”
According to neighbor Cheryl Adkins, the child and her siblings have been taken from the house due to unhygienic conditions, such as years without running water and messy pets. Adkins was furious and called the police several times, saying, “They robbed her of her childhood.”
Michelle, the girl’s grandmother, stood up for the family, claiming that they were not informed of the pregnancy and that the girl blamed a 12-year-old boy.
Michelle remarked, “They have turned my daughter and my son-in-law into monsters.” “They’re not. They adore those kids.
Concern over the case was raised by the DA’s office’s announcement of the DNA results on August 25.
